Adyghe State University Announces Its First-Ever Initiative to Attract Postdoctoral Researchers

Adyghe State University has announced the launch of a pioneering program to attract postdoctoral fellows (postdocs)—researchers holding a Candidate of Science degree or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad. This marks the university’s first comprehensive initiative dedicated to recruiting promising scientists to enhance its research capabilities.

Implemented as part of the strategic "Priority 2030" academic leadership program, this initiative aims to develop ASU’s scientific potential, strengthen existing research teams, and foster the integration of science with education. Selected postdoctoral fellows will participate in research projects aligned with the university’s priority areas, elevating its research profile to a new level of excellence.

A total of two scientists will be chosen: one will join the scientific and educational cluster "Institute of Exact Sciences and Digital Technologies" to conduct research in mathematics—including discrete mathematics, combinatorial optimization, geometry, machine learning, and artificial intelligence—and the other will join the "Institute of Living Systems and Health Engineering" to focus on research in chemistry—covering physical chemistry, chemical kinetics and catalysis, electrochemistry, and spectroscopic methods.

Researchers under 39 years of age (exceptions may be considered) with experience in managing or participating in scientific projects, at least three publications in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) core over the past five years, and two recommendations from recognized scientists are invited to apply. Applicants must submit a comprehensive research proposal aligned with the competition’s thematic focus and will undergo multiple selection stages, including document review and interviews.

Successful candidates will be offered a three-year fixed-term employment contract. The university guarantees a monthly salary of 120,000 rubles, along with additional allowances for teaching, living expenses, and access to state-of-the-art scientific infrastructure, equipment, and information resources.

As part of their individual work plan, postdoctoral researchers will be expected to publish in leading scientific journals, present their work at national and international conferences, participate in grant-funded projects, and supervise students’ final theses. This workload aims to foster not only high scientific productivity but also active engagement within the university’s academic community.

Following the annual progress review, a selection committee will evaluate the fulfillment of the individual work plan. Persistent failure to meet obligations may result in early termination of the employment contract.
