ASU Staff, Students, and Their Families Invited to Participate in the Nationwide Mass Cycling Race Celebrating World Cycling Day

The Russian Ministry of Sport and the Committee of the Republic of Adygea for Physical Culture and Sports invite you to participate in the 5th All-Russian mass cycling race "World Cycling Day," dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The event is also timed to coincide with Russia Day. The goals are to develop cycling, promote a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen traditional values.

The event will take place on June 6 in Maykop. The start is at Friendship Square. The bike ride will follow Pionerskaya, Pobedy, Proletarskaya, and M. Gorky streets.

 Event program:

• 08:00 – 09:50 – Registration of participants (Friendship Square)

•  10:00 – Start of the cycling marathon (distance 18 km for participants born in 2012 and older)

•  10:00 – 11:30 – Competition for participants under 14 years old at Friendship Square (100 m, 200 m, 600 m, 1 km)

•  12:00 – 13:00 – Award ceremony (medals and diplomas from the Russian Ministry of Sports, prizes in special nominations)

•  14:00 – Completion.

A concert by creative groups, a prize draw, food service outlets, a bicycle service station, and the sale of cycling products are also planned.

Winners and runners-up will receive medals and diplomas from the Russian Ministry of Sport. The organizers will also award prizes in the following categories: "Oldest Participant," "Youngest Participant," "Sports Family," "Most Creative Bicycle," and "Best Costume." 

Participants under 14 years of age start only in a closed area.

For the safety of participants, it is recommended to use bicycle helmets and other protective equipment (elbow pads, knee pads).

The bike ride is not a speed race. Participants are required to observe general road safety rules, maintain a speed limit of no more than 15 km/h within the entire column of participants, not overtake or cross the path of other participants, follow in a group behind traffic police vehicles and the cycling school's safety vehicles leading the group, avoid sidewalks, and strictly follow the designated route.
