A Rising Star in Physical Education and Sports at Adyghe State University

We continue our series introducing young educators at Adyghe State University. Today, we highlight Ekaterina Dzyuina, a lecturer in the Sports Disciplines Department of the Institute of Physical Education and Judo, as well as a lecturer in specialized disciplines within the Department of Physical Education and Emergency Management at Maikop State Humanitarian and Technical College of ASU.

In 2023, Ekaterina graduated with honors from Adyghe State University with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Judo, specializing in "Sports Training in a Chosen Sport." Two years later, she completed her master's degree with honors in "Pedagogy of Professional Education."

Reflecting on her academic journey, Ekaterina states, "If I had the chance to do it all over again, I would enroll in Physical Education and Judo without hesitation."

Throughout her studies, she actively participated in volleyball at the ASU sports club under the guidance of Murat Mirza, whom she credits for his significant contribution to her professional growth. Ekaterina also competed at various levels, from intra-university basketball and volleyball championships to national tournaments. During her senior year, she and her classmates took the initiative to organize sporting events, further demonstrating her leadership and passion for sports.

Ekaterina fondly recalls the unwavering support she received from the institute's director, Ruslan Akhtaov, and the deputy director for academic affairs, Susanna Bagadirova. "They were like a beacon of light guiding us," she says.

In his fourth year, Ruslan Akhtaov fulfilled hir dream of becoming a teacher by offering him a position as a physical education instructor at Secondary School No. 24 in Rodnikovy. A year later, thanks to Aidamir Bguashev, the director of Moscow State University of Physical Culture and Sport, a new chapter in her life began—working at the college.

"Aidamir Bguashev opened up new opportunities for me and showed me that I could participate in training future specialists in physical education and sports," Ekaterina shares.

After nearly four years of teaching, she is convinced that the profession demands a great deal of responsibility. In her view, this is an essential understanding for anyone pursuing a career in education.

"Always strive to move forward and never rest on your laurels. Be fearless, bold, and decisive. Most importantly, love what you do," advises Ekaterina  to her future colleagues.
