Celebrating International Dance Day, the folk ensemble "Nart" of Adyghe State University released an instructional video showcasing an ancient Adyghe dance.
The artists have developed a routine for students to learn, showcasing one of the Adyghe people's favorite dances, "L'eperys." "L'eperys" (note that spelling may vary across different dialects) is an ancient Adyghe (Circassian) dance distinguished by its grace, serenity, and precise movements. It symbolizes a deep connection with nature and embodies the spirit and courage of the performer.
This video is ideal for individuals already familiar with the basic steps, including the triple step, side step, and step-overs. In the future, the Adyghe State University media service plans to produce additional beginner-friendly dance tutorials featuring dancers from the university's dance troupes and students from the choreography program at the ASU Institute of Arts. A concert and flash mob for everyone will be open to all on 29 April, at the ASU Concert Hall, starting at 4:00 PM. Admission is free.
