ASU International Friendship Club Launches Innovative Psychological and Adaptation Coworking Series for International Students
As part of the International Friendship Club (IFC) events at the International Faculty of Adyghe State University, Associate Professor of the Department of Educational Psychology at ASU, Zuriet Mamysheva, will hold a series of meetings with international students in the format of a psychological and adaptation coworking space.
The meetings will be held from February to April. Their goal is to bring together the international students, teach and improve their psychological self-regulation skills, stress management, and the reduction of anxiety and aggressive behavior. Furthermore, the discussions will help students delve into the process of self-discovery.
The first event was held on the theme "ASU - our common home: life and study in a new city."
"At the first meeting, everyone shared their experiences and background. The students mentioned missing their families, but their mentors are helping them navigate their new surroundings and integrate into the learning environment, and they really like Maykop and ASU. The next meeting will be practical. A psychologist will conduct self-regulation training for those interested. The students will also receive advice and recommendations to help them adapt more quickly, feel confident, effectively master educational programs, and form new friendships in Adygea," said Zamira Khuazheva, Head of the International Faculty Department .
The International Friendship Club is made up of international students from various faculties. The largest number of members comes from ASU's International Relations and Law Faculties. The IFC hosts a variety of themed events to help international students feel part of the community, facilitate their Russian language learning, develop an interest in and appreciation of ASU, Maykop, Adygea, and Russia, and, of course, learn about different traditions and cultures, and explore the sights of the Republic of Adygea and cities across the Russian Federation.
