Valery Falkov Articulates Key Priorities for Strategic Cooperation with Brazil

Following a meeting of the Russian-Brazilian High-Level Commission on Cooperation, the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science outlined three key areas of collaboration.

The first area pertains to competitions for joint research projects. Currently, five initiatives are underway, with three additional projects set to be supported following the results of the upcoming competition this year. The second area focuses on the development of synchrotron and neutron research. Russia and Brazil are both operating fourth-generation facilities—Sirius in Campinas and SKIF in Novosibirsk—whose launch is scheduled for this year. The Minister identified higher education as the third strategic area. Universities in both countries have established more than 360 agreements for student exchanges and joint research projects.

For Adyghe State University, this area constitutes a key component of its consistent international strategy. As a reminder, in June 2025, the university reinforced its partnership with Brazilian institutions during the 2nd BRICS+ University Rectors' Forum,  held in Rio de Janeiro.

Daud Mamiy, Rector of ASU and Vice President of the Russian Union of Rectors, participated in the forum as part of the Russian delegation. Following the event, cooperation agreements were signed with three Brazilian universities, paving the way for joint educational programs, research projects, and academic exchanges.

Thus, ASU actively contributes to the government's commitment to strengthening international cooperation, affirming its status as a modern university dedicated to the global agenda and strategic partnerships. The working visit of Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov to Brazil further underscored the high priority placed on developing Russian-Brazilian scientific and educational collaborations.
