The All-Russian Children's Center "Orlyonok" hosted the science festival, part of the "Science Around. Season Three" project by Adyghe State University. Over 2,000 schoolchildren from 78 regions of Russia attended the event. This was the second time this season that the festival was held at Orlyonok.

The program included four popular science lectures. Daud Mamiy, Rector of Adyghe State University (ASU), Vice President of the Russian Union of Rectors, member of the Russian Council of School Olympiads and the jury of the All-Russian Mathematics Olympiad, and PhD in Physics and Mathematics, delivered a lecture entitled "Graphs and Sports Competitions: Who Will Win?"

Andronik Arutyunov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor at the Higher School of Modern Mathematics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), and Leading Researcher at the Institute of Control Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), also addressed the students with a lecture entitled "The Sumerians, the Inquisition, and Revolutions. A Brief History of Algebraic Equations."

Semyon Teploukhov , PhD in Engineering, Head of the Renewable Energy Sources Laboratory at ASU and Associate Professor of the Department of Automated Information Processing and Control Systems, spoke about how artificial intelligence is helping to create the energy of the future.

Also giving a lecture entitled "Around Fermat's Christmas Theorem" was Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor at ASU, Professor at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Professor at Innopolis University, Chief Researcher at the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Alexey Savvateev.

Lecture topics ranged from mathematics and energy to artificial intelligence, from theoretical problems to applied developments, giving students an idea of how broad the field of scientific research can be.

At the science workshop, participants conducted chemical experiments and observed how the color of substances changes depending on the environment and temperature, explored the microworld under a microscope, learned to control drones and robots, immersed themselves in virtual reality, solved math puzzles, and much more. Special attention was paid to neurotechnology: using psychophysiological tests, the students measured their reaction time, tested their attention span, and assessed the effects of stress on the body.

In addition to lectures and interactive platforms, participants enjoyed a Scientific Film Lab, the "Elements of Science" intellectual games championship, and the "World of Science Through the Eyes of Children" photography competition.

The science festival series at Orlyonok will continue—the next meeting will be held during the eleventh session in October.

As a reminder, "Science Around" has been implemented by Adyghe State University since 2024 with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology events. The project was recognized as the best educational project in Adygea according to the Knowledge Award, was among the top three in the 11th All-Russian Prize "For Loyalty to Science" in the "Science for Children" category, and was shortlisted for the 2024 Runet Prize in the "Children's Runet and Family Values" category.

The project's goal is to promote Russian scientific achievements in the natural, mathematical, and engineering sciences, draw attention to the work of scientists, showcase the results of scientific research, and enhance the image of scientists and engineers in the minds of schoolchildren. Furthermore, the project's activities are intended to foster young people's understanding of the prospects of careers in technology. The project will involve renowned Russian popularizers of mathematics and its applications, astrophysics, chemistry, biology, engineering, research and development in space exploration, and the humanities, which are important for preserving the humanistic component amid the country's commitment to technological leadership.

The third season of the project includes street science festivals in Maykop, Belorechensk, and Ust-Labinsk; science festivals at the Orlyonok and Smena All-Russian Children's Centers; renowned lecturers from the project will give lectures and master classes at traditional summer schools in mathematics, biology, and chemistry at the Gornaya Legenda ASU training and production facility; expansion of the media library of popular science lectures and podcast episodes for "What Academicians Talk About"; development and implementation of the interdisciplinary quiz "Russia Decides" and the second family mathematics olympiad "From A to Z." A series of online lessons on natural sciences, mathematics, information technology, space science, and engineering for schoolchildren from across the country is also planned.
