The "UniverLeague of Regions" competition, organized by the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization "Russian Student Sports Union," opened at the Yakub Koblev Sports Palace of Adyghe State University.

From October 20 to November 14, students from Adyghe State University, Maikop State Technological University, Maikop State Humanitarian and Technical College of ASU, Adyghe Pedagogical College named after Kh. Andrukhaev, and Maikop Medical College will compete in 12 sports.

"This project is aimed at developing student sports in higher and secondary vocational education. This is our second time holding it: last year, there were only five events, and four educational organizations participated. This year, the list of events that will be competing has been expanded. These include volleyball, basketball, 3x3 streetball, mini-football, table tennis, track and field, orienteering, chess, powerlifting, sambo, the GTO all-around competition, and the "Student Versta" cross-country race, which will attract up to four hundred participants, " said Murat Mirza, Executive Director of the Russian Student Sports Union and Head of the ASU Sports Club  

The winners will receive medals, certificates, and sports equipment, and the winners will have the opportunity to represent the region in the All-Russian final.

More than 800 students will participate in the project in Adygea. Similar competitions will be held in 38 regions across Russia.

The project was developed as part of the Intersectoral Program for the Development of Student Sports through 2030, approved by the Russian Government Decree of April 10, 2025.
