Students from the Institute of Exact Sciences and Digital Technologies at Adyghe State University— Sofia Bulatova, Alexander Galkin, Veronika Glebova, Anna Kolosova, and Samira Stash —under the guidance of mentor Olga Plisenko, are developing a GIS module for "Power Grids" as part of the Big Mathematical Workshop for the project's new client, Maikop Thermal Power Plant LLC .

The solution being developed consists of a graph-based power grid model and a Python analysis module. The system builds a graph using spatial data, identifies damaged segments, and generates a list of consumers without power, categorized by importance (from hospitals to households). The calculation results are visualized in the desktop GIS "Panorama."

The system should support object selection by clicking and searching by ID. For visualization, it is proposed to highlight disabled zones. The functionality should also include list generation in the panel, report export, and data filtering by consumer type (residential/industrial) and priority.

The product architecture includes three main modules:

  • Cartographic - display of power lines, substations and consumers on a city map;

  • Outage modeling - calculation of network segments and affected areas, as well as a list of disconnected organizations;

  • Administration – adding and editing objects, scaling data.

During their work, the team will process diverse data (production, spatial, technical, and consumer data) covering Maykop's power grid facilities. To update the information, the students will audit the client's existing geographic information system.
