The results of the All-Russian (with international participation) competition of scientific, methodological, and creative works titled "Homeland Studies, Heritage, Tourism" were announced in the city of Kirov.

Emma Oserskaya, a graduate student at Adyghe State University and director of Lyceum No. 8 named after Zhenya Popov, was awarded a third-place diploma. Her academic advisor was Elena Malysheva, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Professor at the Faculty of History at Adyghe State University. Emma's submission, titled "Zhenya Popov – Hero of the School," was recognized for its outstanding contribution.

The work is dedicated to the heroic pioneer Zhenya Popov, who fought against Nazi invaders in occupied Maykop during the Great Patriotic War and was ultimately executed. Zhenya Popov’s courageous deed remains forever etched in the memory of Lyceum No. 8 (renamed in his honor in 1943). In 1989, a monument commemorating the young hero was unveiled in the school’s courtyard.

Currently, Emma Vladimirovna has set her sights on collaborating with the Union of Veterans to secure official recognition of Zhenya Popov’s heroism and to advocate for posthumous honors, such as the title of Hero or other distinctions.

A total of 153 participants from Russia and the Republic of Belarus received awards in the form of diplomas. The competition was organized by the Scientific and Educational Center "Tradition" and the Scientific Society "Unique Vyatka."
