On June 11, Adyghe State University launched a three-day analytical seminar titled "Pedagogical Engineering as a Specialized Engineering School." During this event, the university initiated the development of an application for the federal project "Advanced Engineering Schools." This national program aims to, with the support of high-tech companies, train the next generation of engineers and foster the development of breakthrough technologies.

Until now, the project has primarily encompassed technical universities. Adyghe State University proposes a different approach.

"We have been working on pedagogical engineering for two years as part of the Priority Program. To date, there have been no applications from the social sciences and humanities to the Advanced Engineering Schools program. We aim to be the first. Currently, we recognize a strong demand for engineers, which begins with schoolchildren interested in pursuing engineering careers. To meet this need, we must develop innovative technologies for engineering classrooms and train teachers to effectively lead these classes and clubs. Adygea State University possesses the potential and resources to achieve this," stated ASU Rector Daud Mamiy.

Igor Remorenko, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education, served as the lead moderator of the seminar. He will also oversee the Pedagogical Engineering Laboratory currently being established at Adyghe State University.

"This is a rather ambitious endeavor—to integrate industrial advancements with pedagogical engineering. At this seminar, we will discuss when modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, are beneficial and when they may be counterproductive. Most importantly, we will consider how these technologies can be effectively applied within the context of Adyghe State University," Igor Remorenko stated.

The seminar features a comprehensive program that includes training sessions, collaborative group work, and expert presentations. Participants will explore strategies for designing innovative educational processes and tools, ranging from reengineering classroom environments to integrating digital platforms. A central focus of the agenda is the challenge posed by artificial intelligence to educators, along with an examination of its potential limitations and applications.

Leading federal experts in engineering education, didactics, mathematics, methodology, and digital technologies will participate in the seminar. Esteemed representatives include members from the Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Southern Federal University, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Rostec State Corporation, the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management, and the Russian Academy of Education.

The seminar continued until June 13. Based on the outcomes, a concept for pedagogical engineering as a specialized engineering school will be developed, alongside an application from ASU to participate in the federal project "Advanced Engineering Schools."
