The Maykop State Humanitarian and Technical College of Adyghe  State University hosted the Open Championship of the Fisht Tourism Club, a sports tourism competition. The competition, held in the first and second-class distance-walking events on artificial terrain, brought together young athletes from various municipalities of the Republic of Adygea.

The event was organized by the Fisht Tourist Club with the support of the Sports Tourism Federation of the Republic of Adygea. Teams from the Republican Center for Supplementary Education for Children (Maikop), the Giaginsky District, Gymnasium No. 22 (Maikop), the Fisht Tourist Club (Maikop), and School No. 24 (Rodnikovy) participated in the competition.

Athletes of various age categories took to the starting line, from the youngest participants (8-10 years old) to older juniors. Participants had to demonstrate their technical skills, handling of camping equipment, speed, endurance, and decision-making skills within the competitive distance. After passing the admissions committee and official training, the competition's official opening ceremony took place, followed by the competitions in the Class 1 and Class 2 distances.

According to the regulations, winners were determined by their time on the course, and violations were assessed using a no-penalty system. This format allowed for the most objective determination of the strongest athletes and teams.

Spectators and mentors actively supported the participants, creating the atmosphere of a true sporting festival. For many young tourists, these competitions were not only an opportunity to test their strength but also an important preparation for more serious competitions.

As a reminder, the Fisht tourist club operates at the MGGTK and the ASU. The project is supported by the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation. Its goal is to provide free training to teenagers aged 13–17 in the basics of tourism, environmental safety skills, and basic tourism training.

Holding such competitions is one of the practical results of the project's implementation, allowing participants to apply acquired knowledge and skills in a competitive sports environment.

The competition results were as follows: 1st place went to the team from the Regional Center for Children's Development, 2nd place went to Vershina 22, and 3rd place went to the Giaginsky District. The winners and runners-up were awarded certificates.

"The championship reaffirmed the strong interest of young people in sports tourism and demonstrated that the Fisht Tourism Club is increasingly serving as a vital platform for the athletic, personal, and patriotic development of the younger generation. We are confident that this competition will establish a lasting tradition and will contribute significantly to the ongoing growth of tourism in the Republic of Adygea," stated Vladimir Zotov, President of the Sports Tourism Federation of the Republic of Adygea.
