At the "Information Technologies and Languages of the Peoples of Russia" conference in Moscow, it was announced that the Adyghe language has been officially integrated into Yandex Translate. Murat Kumpilov, the Head of Adygea, shared this news on his social media platforms.
The project was carried out by Yandex in collaboration with the House of Peoples of Russia and with the support of the Federal Agency for Nationalities, as part of an initiative to preserve the languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation. The data necessary for the launch of the Adyghe language in Yandex Translate was collected and provided by Adyghe State University.
"I extend my congratulations to everyone interested in Adygea, the North Caucasus region, and the Adyghe people in general—those eager to deepen their understanding of the diverse peoples of our vast country," the head of the state Murat Kumpilov stated.
He also highlighted the significance of the fact that the Adyghe language was added to the Yandex.Translate platform during the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.
Users of the platform can now translate texts from Adyghe into over 100 other languages and vice versa. This feature is already available on the Yandex.Translate website, mobile application, and within the thematic translation section in Search.
Thanks to this translation capability, anyone can learn the Adyghe language, access original works by our writers and poets, read publications in Adygabze, and explore the rich cultural heritage of the Circassian people.
