The Olympiad will take place in two rounds, utilizing both face-to-face and distance formats. Schoolchildren from Russia, Abkhazia, and Uzbekistan will participate in person, while teams from Armenia, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, Serbia, Turkey, Thailand, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Switzerland will compete online. Winners will be determined in two age categories: the junior league (grades 8-9) and the senior league (grades 10-11).
The jury and problem committee of the Olympiad consist of renowned Russian mathematicians and educators, as well as coaches of the Russian national mathematics team, gold and silver medalists of the International Mathematical Olympiad from various years, and members of the jury for the All-Russian School Olympiad in Mathematics. Among them are Kirill Sukhov and Pavel Kozhevnikov, who serve as coaches for the Russian team at the International School Olympiad in Mathematics, along with Nazar Agakhanov, the chairman of the central subject-methodical commission and a member of the jury for the All-Russian School Olympiad in Mathematics.
The official slogan of the CMO Math The World Olympiad is “Mathematics unites the world.” Its implementation aims to create a unified cultural and educational space while strengthening friendly ties among schoolchildren from Russia and other countries who share a passion for mathematics.
The educational program for the Olympiad will include open lectures and meetings with renowned scientists and science communicators, as well as educators and specialists in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Andrey Raigorodsky, the scientific director of the Caucasian Mathematical Center of ASU and director of the Phystech School of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at MIPT, will engage schoolchildren in an entertaining and insightful discussion about mathematics. Russian philanthropist and innovative entrepreneur Ilya Chekh, founder of the scientific and technological company "Guild: Frontiers of Science," will present on startups that could help humanity survive on the Moon. Additionally, the famous science communicator Hayk Sargsyan, head of the laboratory of physics of nano- and mesosystems at the Institute of Applied Problems of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, will deliver a lecture on mathematics as a universal language for conversing with nature. His colleague, Kamo Atayan, head of the department of popularization of science and development programs at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, will demonstrate engaging physics experiments.
A separate educational program will be organized for the teachers accompanying the Olympiad participants. They will have the opportunity to meet with Nikolai Andreev, the Head of the Laboratory for Popularization and Propaganda of Mathematics at the Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Additionally, they will attend a master class led by Nazar Agakhanov, Chairman of the Central Subject-Methodical Commission of the All-Russian Secondary School for Mathematics, entitled "Algebra in Olympiad Problems," and participate in a round table discussion titled "Caucasian Mathematical Center - Territory of Cooperation."
During the CMO event, the mathematical quest "Integral Around the City" is traditionally held in Maykop. This year, the game will take place on March 16 and will celebrate the 85th anniversary of Adyghe State University.
In between tours and educational activities, the Olympiad participants can enjoy a rich cultural program. Guests of the region will be introduced to the history and cultural traditions of Adygea, with excursions to museums, concerts, and historical and natural monuments arranged.
The names of the winners and prize recipients of the 10th Caucasian Mathematical Olympiad will be announced at the closing ceremony, which will take place on March 19 in the concert hall of ASU.
